Let these 12 days be a gentle return to that way of living.
Day 1:
Light the Hearth Fire (Ancient Greece – Hestia)
Hestia, goddess of the hearth, ruled over home, warmth, and inner steadiness.
Ritual:
Light a candle and place it in the center of your home. Sit quietly.Ancient Greeks began all rituals by honoring Hestia first.
Reflection:
May I be supported by the warmth and light that surrounds me.

What needs tending at the center of my life?
Day 2:
Olive Oil Blessing (Greece & Italy)
Olive oil was sacred—used for healing, anointing, and protection.
Ritual:
Warm a drop of olive oil between your palms. Gently rub it into your hands or temples. Move slowly. Intentionally.
Reflection:
May I move through this season softened, not hardened.

Where can I soften to invite more ease?
Day 3:
Bread as Prayer (Ancient Italy)
Bread was more than food, it was a covenant with life.
Ritual:
Eat bread simply, without distraction. In ancient households, crumbs were never wasted, bread carried blessing.
Reflection:
May I receive nourishment with gratitude and recognize the abundance in simple things.

Day 4:
Water as Purification (Ancient Greece)
Water was used ritually before temples, meals, and transitions.
Ritual:
Wash your hands slowly with warm water. Imagine releasing what no longer belongs to you this year.

Day 5:
The Evening Walk (Italy – La Passeggiata)
Rooted in Roman times, walking was a way to restore balance between body and spirit.

Day 8:

Ritual:

Day 9:
Sacred Silence (Ancient Greece)
Silence was considered a spiritual discipline.
Ritual:
Spend 10 minutes in silence, no music, no talking, no scrolling.

Athletes and everyday people alike anointed the body with oil as an act of respect.
